What should I do when DocAction is hidden on the bottom right corner with red X, and I can’t open the software.

The red X indicates that the scanner is not detected by DocAction. Please check the following:

  1. Open Windows Device Manager. If an unknown device is detected, try installing the driver from the CD or the Plustek website.
  2. If the scanner is not detected, check the USB cable connection between the computer and the scanner (do not use a USB hub). You can also try unplugging and re-plugging the USB cable.
  3. Ensure that the scanner is powered on.
